artist statement

I am a multidisciplinary artist working predominately in painting, animation, and participatory installation. My recent work explores the emotional landscapes of parenthood and early childhood, with a focus on collective family memory, domestic space, pattern, and the natural world. My studio practice has its roots in my childhood in the American South and a love for storytelling and ornamental pattern. In my work with communities I design and facilitate welcoming and creative environments for participants of all ages to engage with creative learning and open-ended play.
